Karyl Ann Zempel

Karyl Ann Zempel, age 75, of Rochester, MN died on June 17, 2023 at Rochester East in Rochester. Surrounded by loved ones. Karyl was born on February 6, 1948 to Bert and Dorothy (Livingston) Zempel in Spring Valley Township. Karyl grew up in Rochester, graduating from John Marshall High School in 1966. Karyl worked a variety of office jobs and managed Central Towers for many years until she retired. She was a devoted and loving mother of four children. Karyl was an advid animal lover, she enjoyed watching birds, having flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a fan of listening to Ricky Nelson, Cher and Elvis. She also enjoyed watching movies and western TV shows, her favorite was Gunsmoke because of James Arness. She is survived by her children Shawn Sweet, Todd Gaster, Troy Gaster and Tiffany (Anthony) Bohlen; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Jean (Les) Hegna and Lynn Olson. She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to Paws and Claws of Rochester.
