Karen Louise Pasch (nee Ackland), age 84, of Rochester, MN went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2024. She was born on October 4, 1940 to Fred and Dorothy Ackland in Toledo, OH.
Karen attended DeVilbiss High School and the University of Toledo, where she graduated with a BS degree in Mathematics.
In 1962 Karen married Karl Pasch. She taught for two years in the Toledo Public Schools. After raising four children she resumed working in 1982 as a tax professional for H&R Block and RSM. She retired in 2019.
She moved to Rochester, MN and was one of nine people in planting a Reformed Presbyterian church, now known as Trinity Presbyterian Church PCA. She was very active in women's ministries, as well as, hospitality and leadership positions. She volunteered more than 13 years at Mayo Clinic Infusion Therapy.
Karen is survived by her husband, Karl, of almost 62 years, sons Mark (Stephanie) of Rochester, MN and Andrew (fiancée Katie) of Atlanta, GA; daughters Lauri Hammond (fiancée Steve) of Royersford, PA, and Cara Gerdts (Brian) of Rochester, MN; sisters Pamela Leslie (Tony) of Hayesville, NC and Debra Sawade (Ron) of Toledo, OH; sister-in-law Gail Ackland of Beaver Falls, PA; grandchildren Caitlyn, Jacob, Samuel, Mathew, and Mickaela Pasch, Michal Jockers (Andrew), Jaimie Hammond; step-grandchildren Kaylee and Cody Gerdts; great-grandsons Liam and Lucas Jockers and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Michael and Terry Ackland.
Karen loved to spend time with her family and friends; studying the Bible, crafts, and puzzles, and Words-with-Friends, and Minnesota sports teams.
A funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2577 Schaeffer Lane NE, Rochester. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church PCA building fund in Rochester, MN.
