Rochester - Karen J. Gilsdorf, 54, died on Friday, September 23, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Karen was born in Windom, MN on May 9, 1957 to Allen and Shirley (Kleinschmidt) Casey. She graduated from New London-Spicer High School in 1975. Karen married Cyril Gilsdorf on October 6, 1984. He passed away in 2007. Karen worked as a Program Systems Analyst for IBM. She enjoyed being active in church, gardening, flowers, motorcycles, and fishing. Karen was a great inspiration to many friends and family. Karen is survived by a daughter, Jenny Gilsdorf, of Rochester; a brother David (Jean) Casey, of Mazeppa MN; her parents, Allen and Shirley Casey, of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews. Karen is preceeded in death by her husband, Cyril; a child, Corey; and a brother, Randy. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, 45 1st Ave. NW, Oronoco with Rev. Ben Kempfert officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Oronoco Cemetary. Memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
