ROCHESTER:June V. Holmberg, age 87 of Rochester, MN passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012 at St Marys Hospital. June Virginia Holmberg was born April 24, 1924 in Spring Grove, MN to Fern and Amanda (Johnson) McKenzie.June married Earl Holmberg on March 28, 1943.Earl passed away October 4, 1991.She worked at the State Hospital, Waters Instruments and then Impact, a business service for IBM.She loved to square dance.June was treasurer for the Senior Citizen Square Dance Club, also known as the Silver Treads.June enjoyed family camping trips, crossword puzzles, solitaire, birthday trips to Treasure Island, her annual trips to the Fiddler's Convention in Yankton, SD and her trips to Branson, MO. June is survived by seven daughters, Dawn Holmberg of Rochester, Gail Holmberg of Rochester, Lynn (Doug) Carlson of Oronoco, Judy (Donald) Lee of Claremont, Gwen (Thomas) Heymann of Kasson, Jean (Terry) Rich of Rochester and Alisa Ebling of Rochester; three sons, Earl F. (Dawn) of Santee, CA, Carl A. of Rochester and Daniel W. (Mary) of Rochester; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Ramona) McKenzie of Byron, MN, Dale (Fran) McKenzie of Bemidji, MN and Darwin (Patricia) McKenzie of Stewartville, MN; two sisters, Patsy Mundale of Rochester and Nancy Vagt of Rochester; two half brothers, Rod (Koko) Eken of Zimmerman, MN and Jim (Gloria) McKenzie of Hampton, MN.She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl and two grandchildren, Kasey Stafford and Jacqueline Lee; a brother, Jerry McKenzie; and two sisters, Mae House and Grace McKenzie. The memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be from 11:00 am to the time of the service on Wednesday. There will be a private family burial at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
