Judith A. Koerner, 63, of Rochester, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital, surrounded by her family. Jude was born November 7, 1950 in Mishicot, WI to Raymond and Elaine (Meidl) Bohacek. She graduated from Mishicot High School and received her bachelors degree in Sociology from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. On August 23, 1975, Jude married Joel Koerner in Birnamwood, WI. After college she was employed as a social worker at Homme senior housing in Wittenberg, WI while she lived in Birnamwood, WI. She also worked at a nursing home in Whitehall, WI while living in Blair, WI. In 1982 Joe and Jude moved to Rochester where they raised two sons. In Rochester Jude volunteered at Bamber Valley Elementary and later worked as a special education paraprofessional at Jefferson and Riverside elementary schools. Jude was an avid reader, loved her dog Cotton, and enjoyed walking and watching her children play sports. She was a member of Church of the Resurrection. She is survived by her loving husband, Joel; sons, Lucas (Sarah) Koerner of Mountain View, CA and Benjamin (Kristine) Koerner of Bloomington, IL. Jude is also survived by her mother, Elaine Bohacek, sister, Cindy (Lynn) Kolstad, and brother, Steve (Jean) Bohacek. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond. A memorial service will be held at Church of the Resurrection (1600 11th Ave in SE Rochester) on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the church service.
