Joyce E. Bandel

ROCHESTER:MN, Joyce E. Bandel, 71, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her home, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Joyce was born November 18, 1940 in St. Peter, MN to Oscar and Anna (Meyer) Olson. She graduated from Dodge Center High School Class of 1958. In March 1976, Joyce married Tom Bandel. She worked at Mayo Clinic for 22 years in the personnel department. Joyce was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church. She loved working in her flower garden and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Tom; stepson, Kim Bandel of Portland; sister, Shirley Jorstad of Hayfield; brothers, Dan (Judy) Olson of Dodge Center, Bill (Merece) Olson of Kasson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Lucille Olson. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 2815 57th St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901 with Rev. William Meiers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AMuntil time of service at the church. Inurnment will be at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905 or to Hosanna Lutheran Church.
