A memorial mass will be held for Joseph (Joe) Reiland, age 90, who died of natural causes Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the home of his daughter in Rochester, MN., at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark McNea officiating.Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.Graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. at theHoly Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery in Rollingstone, MN. Joe was born September 3, 1921 in Rollingstone, MN. to Leonard and Irene Reiland. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Rollingstone, MN and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 1946 during WWII.On May 18, 1948, he married Margaret Losinski in Winona, MN. He owned Reiland Hardware in Rollingstone, MN. until he moved to Rochester in 1962.He then worked at I.B.M. as a tool and die maker until retiring.Joe was a member of the I.B.M. Quarter Century Club, Rochester Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree, American Legion Post #92, Rochester V.F.W., Catholic Aid Association and St. Francis Catholic Church.He enjoyed golf, woodworking, and wintering in warm climates.A highlight was going to Washington, D.C. last year on a WWII Veterans Honors Flight trip. Joe is survived by his children, Mark (Cindy) Reiland of Cottage Grove, MN., Mary Ritchie of Rochester, MN., Barbara (Sam) Brewington of Blooming Prairie, MN. and Jean Reiland of Frisco, TX.; four grandchildren, Anna Ritchie, Angela (Nicholas) Mitchell, Kale Brewington, and Jaime Brewington;two brothers, James Ed (Vi) Reiland of Rochester, MN and Thomas Tom (Marlene) Reiland of Albert Lea, MN.; and a sister, Catherine Reiland of Rollingstone, MN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret in 2000, two brothers Richard and Donald, his parents, and a grandson, Jesse Brewington.
