Joseph D. Mclevis, Jr.

A Celebration of Life for Joseph D. McLevis Jr. will be at 11:00am on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be from 5:00 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Joseph Donald McLevis Jr. was born on July 26, 1951 in Duluth, Minnesota to Joseph and Patricia (Finn) McLevis Sr.He died on February 26, 2012 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. Joe graduated from John Marshall High School and attended vocational school.He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict.After his discharge, he worked as a disc jockey and car salesman in Rochester.On May 25, 1991, he married Laurie Hanus in Lake City, Minnesota. Joe enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, motorcycles and cars.Laurie and Reed were the loves of his life. Survivors include his wife, Laurie of Rochester, Minnesota; his son, Reed McLevis of Rochester, Minnesota; his daughter, Jennifer Jansma of Arizona; three sisters, Linda Fallon of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Rachelle Lee of Waterloo, Iowa and Cindee Lee of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his brother, Erin Knowles of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews.Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Patricia and a nephew, Larry Lee.
