Joseph Albert Dieser

Joseph "Joe" Albert Dieser, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his much-loved home at Madonna Towers in Rochester, MN, on Sunday, August 26th 2018. Joe was born on May 25, 1927 to Johannes and Barbara Dieser in Hollandale MN. He was the 10th of 13 children. He married Margert Kloeckner on June 16, 1956 in Austin MN. Together they raised six children. He was employed by Hormel and served in WW II and the Korean War. He took great pride in his country and service and cherished an Honor Flight trip, to Washington DC. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening and practicing his Christian Faith. Above all things he deeply loved his grandchildren and spent the majority of his post retirement life watching them grow and was a big part in all their successes. He spent endless hours watching them at sporting events, dances, recitals, high school graduations, and college graduations. He would drop whatever he was doing to make sure he was there to support them. His children and grandchildren learned a lot from him. He is survived by his six children Margaret (Brian) Fasbender, Steve Dieser, Laura (Brian) Bates David (Haide) Dieser, Don (Tracy) Dieser and Lisa (Mark) Dieser-Gustafson, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Madelyn Filer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dieser, October 12, 2012. Joe's family would like to thank the staff of Madonna Community for all the support and care given to Joe. Services will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Madonna Towers Chapel 4001 19th Ave. NW in Rochester. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Madonna Towers Chapel. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #92. Although Joe has left us, he leaves behind a cherished example of a life well lived, always putting family, friends and God ahead of himself.
