John "Jim" Victor Mcfarland

ROCHESTER, MINN:John V. Jim McFarland, 92, died on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Golden Living Center West, Rochester, MN. John Victor McFarland was born September 3, 1922 to John R. and Mamie (Liebenow) McFarland in Wabasha County, MN. Jim was a truck driver for Podein's for six years, owned and operated Hocking's Grocery Store for seven years and was a potato chip salesman for Old Dutch for twenty-three years. He married Esther M. Ahrendt on Octobert 31, 1943. Jim enjoyed traveling, R-Ving, hunting, house boating and fishing.Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Jim is survived by his sister Mary Lou Hodge, Rochester, MN. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther, and a son Curtis. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel with Reverend Nathaniel Schwartz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester, MN.
