John C. Vandermus, 87, of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at his home, on July 16, 2016, surrounded by his family. John was a loving husband to his wife Sally, his three children Linda (Brad) Brech of Rochester, Roger (Nancy) Vandermus of Onalaska, WI, and Lori (Karl) Hunnicutt of Fort Collins, CO, and his seven grandchildren, Victoria (Erik Felten Fiance) and Alexis Brech, Elsa Vandermus, Eryn (Jake) Dillard, and Joseph Vandermus, and Kaitlyn and Emily Hunnicutt.John devoted his life to family. Despite his declining health over the past year, John continued to make his family his top priority. John was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on May 21, 1929 to Clarence and Alvina Vandermus.John started out working with his father in his electrical repair shop, and later spent 22 years with the City of Green Bay in the engineering department from where he retired in 1986.John had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, hunting, shooting sports, and most of all, the Green Bay Packers. John is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sally, and his children and grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alvina, and his sister Marilyn LaPacz. A funeral service celebrating Johns life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday July 19 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Rochester, Minnesota, 5455 50th Avenue, NW, officiated by Rev Thomas Loomis.Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday the 19th of July from 9:00am to 11:00am prior to the Mass.
