John Kleckner, 92, a long-time Rochester resident, passed away Saturday, April 28 at St. Marys Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born January 30, 1920 in Owatonna, MN to James C. and Inez M. Kleckner. He was a painting and decorating contractor for many years. He was an avid hunter and trout fisherman who enjoyed bowling, auctions, and spending time with his grandchildren. His interest in flying earned him his pilot's license in 1967. He is survived by his two daughters, Ellenjean Poffenberger of Chicago, IL, and Catherine Hanenberger of Wabasha, MN; 4 grandchildren, Rick Poffenberger of Lake Zurich, IL, Roger (Andrea) Poffenberger of Lake Zurich, IL, Jason (Katie) Grabow of Wabasha, MN, and Sarah Grabow of Rochester, MN; and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
