Joanne M. Murray A funeral mass for Joanne M. Murray, 75, of Rochester will be at 11:00am on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Joanne Marie Murray was born on May 20, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Margaret (Tracy) Ovsak. She later moved to Frazee, MN. She died on September 11, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. In 1960 Joanne graduated from high school in Frazee, Minnesota. After graduation she moved to the Twin Cities, where she lived until 1967. After marrying her love, Bruce Murray, on July 15, 1967 in St. Paul she moved to Rochester. She worked as a medical secretary for Mayo Clinic from 1967 to 1997. In her spare time and retirement, Joanne enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing beautiful clothing for her daughters, cooking delicious meals, and baking all kinds of wonderful treats, especially for holidays; all of which she was very talented at. She also loved music and dancing. Survivors include her husband, Bruce of Rochester; two daughters, Rachelle (James) Fredricksen of Rochester and Christina (Teddy) Wieczorek of Winona; three grandchildren, Hannah and Drew Fredricksen and Rhen Wieczorek; one sister, Vaughn Holmes of Rice Lake, Wisconsin and two brothers, William Ovsak of Fessinden, North Dakota and Richard Ovsak of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Also, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and George.
