JoAnn (Snowden) Vanderburg passed away on January 25, 2022 in Rochester, Minnesota. She was 85. JoAnn was born on September 15, 1936 in Elizabeth City, NC to John and Ann Elizabeth Snowden. She married Charles Dewayne Vanderburg on September 6, 1955 and later divorced in 1984. They moved between North Carolina and Minnesota, finally settling in Rochester, Minnesota in 1958. JoAnn worked at several businesses in Rochester including Flowers by Jerry, Stierlen's House of Flowers, The Galaxy Motel, and Sadler Properties. She was an avid BINGO player, taught herself to knit, and enjoyed her time in Nags Head, North Carolina. She loved her grandchildren. JoAnn had been living at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth for several years. She is survived by four children, Dan Vanderburg of Kasson, MN, David (Michele) of Powhatan, VA, Lynn Sheldon (Jim) of Winona, MN, Darla Rand (Boyd) of Rochester, MN, and many grandchildren as well as many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Andrist (Ken) of Eyota, MN. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Frank Harvey Snowden. JoAnn will be cremated and buried by her mother in Elizabeth City, NC.
