Joan Wallace

Joan C. Wallace, age 83, of Rochester, MN passed away on September 26, 2024 in Spring Valley, MN.

Joan Carol Wallace was born December 23, 1940 to Isaac and Eva (Koster) Poldervaard near Sanborn, Iowa.

She attended school in May City, Iowa, country school near Spring Valley and graduated from LeRoy High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to James Douglas Wallace on April 4, 1964 in Nashua, Iowa.

Joan was a member of Autumn Ridge Church. She worked at IBM for many years. Joan enjoyed boating, Country music, traveling, baking and bible study.

She is survived by brother, Loren Poldervaard; sister, Marcella Johnson; sister-in-law, Jan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James on March 25, 2022; sisters Joyce Shattuck, Leona Newkirk, and Arlene Oeltjen.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 6th Ave NW, Stewartville, MN.
