Joan Mae Miller, 82, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Golden Living East Care Center. Joan was born December 17, 1932 in rural Hayfield, MN to Norman and Alma (Dahlen) Frederickson. She was a graduate of Hayfield High School in 1951. She went to work as a secretary in the Hayfield and Rochester Public Schools. In 1954, Joan married Rollin Miller and settled in Rochester. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She raised four boys before going to work at IBM where she later retired in 1990. She enjoyed attending church at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester where she also taught Sunday school. Joan loved her 18 wonderfully warm winters in Texas with Rollie. She enjoyed playing the organ, sewing, knitting, ceramics and camping. Joan is survived by her husband, Rollin; sons, Richard (Tess) Miller of New Holland, PA., Gregory (DeLonne) Miller of Burnsville, MN., Dwight (Ann) Miller of Rochester, and Paul Miller of Bloomington, MN; She was blessed with seven grandchildren; Christopher, Eric, Matthew, Chanel, Connor, Alexandra, and Jackson. Joan was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Rebecca; along with her parents, and six siblings. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 222 6th Ave. SW., Rochester with Rev. Joel Haak officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN.
