Joan M. Paulsen

Joan Martha Paulsen, 82, of Rochester, died on December 12, 2018 at her home. She was born July 21, 1936 in St Paul, MN to William and Mabel (Finn) Paulsen. Joan moved to Rochester in 1955 to attend Nursing School. Joan worked at St Mary's Hospital as an LPN for 32 years, retiring on December 30, 1987. Joan enjoyed traveling to visit her sisters and brother. She loved them so. Joan was blessed by wonderful faith, family, and dear friends whom adored her. Every I love you was immediately followed by a "I Love You More" from Joan. Joan was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Her faith was steadfast. Survivors include her two sisters, Jeanne Ledbetter (Bill) of North Carolina and Julie Paulsen of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel, her little brother, Billy Joe, and Twin Brother, Jerry. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to Catholic Relief Services or Mayo Cancer Research.
