Joan E. Englund

ROCHESTER - Joan E. Englund, 85, died on Monday, March 17, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Joan was born in Red Wing, MN on November 1, 1928 to Carl and Lydia (Boldt) Miller.She graduated from Red Wing High School.Joan married Vincent Englund on November 19, 1949 in Red Wing.She was a homemaker for much of her life and was the best at it.She enjoyed working with flowers in her yard, reading, being at the lake Up North, and especially spending time with her family. Joan is survived by three children, Jo Lynn (Jerald) Werre, of Rochester, Steven (Kimberly) Englund, of Rochester, and Thomas Englund, of Rochester; five grandchildren, Jill (Gregory) Wright, of Chatfield, Julianne (Joseph) Lunde, of Rochester, Laura Englund, of Apple Valley, MN, Bjorn Englund, of Grand Forks, ND, and Breanna Englund, of Rochester; five great grandchildren, Katelyn Lunde, Alexander Wright, Evan Wright, Kyra Lunde, and Reece Drogmueller; a sister, Audrey Gay (Rev. Ray) Geist, of New Brighton, MN; and many loving extended family members. Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; her parents; and a brother, Robert. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1212 12th Ave. NW in Rochester, with Rev. Karna Hagen officiating.A visitation will be an hour prior to the service at church.Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Memorials can be directed to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or Seasons Hospice.
