Joan Bernice Ruesink-Alexander

ROCHESTER:Joan Bernice Ruesink-Alexander, 82, of Rochester, MN passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Cottagewood Senior Communities. Joan Bernice Eickhoff was born November 13, 1932 to Alvin and Nora (Hanson) Eickhoff in Fillmore County, MN.Joan graduated from Wykoff High School and lived in Chatfield before moving to Rochester in 1946 and has resided since.Joan worked in Real Estate and appraising for 42 years, she retired in 2003.Joan married Harley Ruesink on June 20, 1951, they later divorced in 1966.Joan married Bert Alexander, Jr. on May 17, 2002 in Rochester.Bert passed away on February 10, 2014.Joan served as a past President on the Board of Realtors in Rochester, a member of multiple listing services and past President of Rochester Chapter of NAIFA and also served as a National Director.Joan was a member at Bethel Lutheran Church. Joan is survived by her son, Terry J. (Christopher Norris) Ruesink of Rochester, MN; three granddaughters, Melissa (Billy) Schreader of Pine Island, Schanelle (Adam) Hansen of Rochester and Fallon Schmiedeberg of Eyota; five great grandchildren, Chloe, Addison, Benjamin, Madelyn and Nora and her beloved dog, Pompi.She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert; her parents; one son, Steven G. Ruesink; and her sister, Janice Ford. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.Burial will take place at Fillmore Community Cemetery in Fillmore, MN.
