Joan A. Regnier, 85, of Rochester, MN, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family after a heroic battle with cancer. Joan was born on June 9, 1933, at the family farm home near Porter, MN, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Moorse) Boulton. She attended school in Minneota, MN, and graduated from Minneota High in 1951 as salutatorian of her class. Joan was united in marriage to Harold "Hal" Regnier on August 12, 1952, in Minneota. Joan was a full-time loving mother and homemaker to her family of six children. Family was most important to her. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed taking pictures of the family and devoted many hours to assembling photos with names, dates and albums. She enjoyed walks, reading and volunteering. She volunteered with Senior Agenda for Independent Living (SAIL) as well as other organizations as she especially enjoyed helping the elderly. She volunteered with the Elder Network for 25 years, a non-profit organization that provides services to those who are 55 or older. Joan always had deep faith in her Christ which was most important to her. She had a special place in her heart for other people, especially the poor and put them first in her prayers and support. Joan was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over 40 years and had special concern for the Sacred Heart Haiti Mission and St. Vincent De Paul which are organizations to help the poor. Joan is survived by her husband Hal; children, Terry (Angela) of Zumbrota, Dean (Jodi Benda) of Mazeppa, Kevin (Lorie) of Zionsville, IN, Joel (June) of Norman, OK, Sandy (Mike Rossi) of Rochester and Larry (Maggie Lindstrom) of Forest Lake, MN; brother, John Boulton of Porter, MN; brother-in-law, Gilbert Regnier of FL; sister-in-law, Phyllis Regnier of St. Peter, MN; dear family friends, Barb Case of Pine Island and Kathy Greden of Rochester; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joan is preceded in death by three sisters; two brothers; one grandson; infant daughter and her parents. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Joan at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Father Russell Scepaniak officiating. The rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes followed by a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sacred Heart Haiti Mission of St. Vincent.
