Jerry Albert Plantin

ROCHESTER, MINN: Jerry Albert Plantin, 75, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital. Jerry was born February 23, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN to Albert and Marian (Williams) Plantin. Jerry married Carol Nash on June 29, 1955 in Minneapolis. He worked as a Senior Designer at IBM and retired after 23 years of service. Jerry proudly served in the Minnesota National Guard and received an honorable discharge after 8 years. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, fishing and working on cars. He was a generous and kind man that loved making people laugh with his great sense of humor. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children, John (Elizabeth) Plantin, Dave (Medea) Plantin, Mary Faber; grandchildren, Ryan, Shannon, Amanda, Josh, Brandon, Jack, Cody, Helena, Nicole, Carter; brother, Jack (Paulie) Plantin; sister, Janet Peacock; many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and one brother. A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Friday, May 13, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 11:30am until time of service.
