Jerine M. Jones-Erickson

Jerine M. Jones-Erickson, age 85, died on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Samaritan Bethany. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester with Reverend Herb Frost officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Rochester Covenant Church, Salvation Army or donors choice. Jerine Mae Anderson was born on January 25, 1931, in Kerrick, MN to Swedish immigrants Charles and Minnie (Olson) Anderson. She graduated from Moose Lake High School. On April 2, 1950, she married Ronald Jones, Sr. They moved to Rochester in 1961 and made their home with their two children. Ron died on April 19, 2001. Jerine worked at the Mayo Clinic and was a medical secretary. She worked there for 25 years until her retirement. On May 12, 2007, she married Herbert Herb Erickson in Rochester. Together they enjoyed traveling on river boat trips in the U. S., Europe, and visiting all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico. She was a master gardener, flower judge, peer counselor for Elder Network, president of Widows Persons Services and member of Kiwanis Day Makers. When Jerine was asked what she collected her response was, friends. Jerine loved dancing both square dancing and ballroom dancing. She was a very loving and caring woman and admired and respected by everyone. Jerine and Herb danced everywhere, from Times Square to the Kursilon Concert Hall in Vienna and even on top of a 100,000 gallon wine cask in Germany. Jerine is survived by her husband, Herb Erickson of Rochester; son, Dr. Ron (Beth) Jones, Jr. of Owatonna; daughter, Carole Stephenson of Anoka; grandchildren, Emily, Sara and Peter; sisters, Elfie Pangburn and Myrtle Baker; brothers, Dennis and Lyle Anderson; many nieces and nephews. Jerine was preceded in death by her first husband, Ron Jones, Sr. ; infant son, Bradley; parents; brothers; Jimmy and Hurley Anderson; sisters, Dode Smith, Wellma Norberg and Fern Lindberg.
