Jeanette "Jan" A. Berg

ROCHESTER -Jeanette Jan Berg, 75, of Rochester died on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeanette was born April 23, 1936 in Claremont, MN to August A. and Ada E. (Stowers) Batzel.She retired from St. Marys Hospital after 27 years of service starting as a housekeeper and ending her career as an Environmental Service Supervisor while raising 4 children on her own.She enjoyed polka and big band dancing, gardening, spending time with friends and most importantly her children and grandsons. Jeanette is survived by her sons, Donald Berg, Charles Berg, Jeffrey Berg (all of Rochester); a daughter, Linda Webb, of FL; two grandsons, Kyle Berg, of Minnetonka, and Korey Berg, of St. Louis Park, MN; two sisters, Helen Tripp, of Mantorville, and Grace (Peter) Meier, of Hastings; a brother, Kenneth Batzel, of Rochester; and a very special friend, Dave. Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; and her grandson, William Billy Berg. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home.Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
