Memorial services for Jeanette E. Edgar, 96, of Rochester, MN will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Evanger Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dwight DoBell officiating.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.Burial of her cremated remains will be at Evanger Lutheran Cemetery. Jeanette Elvira Scharberg was born on June 22, 1918 in Rock Dell Township to Carl and Caroline (Rockvam) Scharberg.She died on December 30, 2014 at Madonna Towers in Rochester. Jeanette attended country schools and married Millard Edgar on March 4, 1944 in Hayfield, MN.They farmed in the Hayfield area and later moved to Kasson and to Rochester in 1975. She worked at Worrall and St. Marys Hospital and volunteered at Olmsted County Social Services.She was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church and was active in the Women's Circle.She enjoyed playing cards, reading, traveling and spending time with all of her grandchildren. Survivors include four daughters, Pat Porter of Rochester, MN, Mary (Gary) Smith of Mayer, AZ, Elaine Powell of Avon Park, FL and June (Cliff) Sandnes of Austin, TX; two sons, Duane Edgar of Hayfield, MN and Robert (Marlene) Edgar of Mantorville, MN; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren and one great great great granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, three sisters, six brothers and two granddaughters.
