Jean Marie Stenstrom

Jean Marie Stenstrom (Growden), age 67, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 after a battle with Pneumonia surrounded by family, the wonderful staff of the Marion Road Chronic Brain Rehabilitation Facility, and staff from St. Jude Hospice. Jean was born December 8, 1943 in Harvey Illinois, to Russell and Jean (Caldwell) Growden. Jean grew up in Fountain and West Concord Minnesota. She worked in retail before coming a homemaker and raising four children in Rochester, Minnesota. She enjoyed raising children so much she became an Olmsted County foster parent. Jean also enjoyed crocheting blankets for her immediate and extended family. Jean is survived by her children Michael P. Stenstrom (Rita) of Weston, WI; Melissa Welcher (James) of Smyrna, TN; Tammy Marquardt of Plainview, MN; Six grandchildren; brother Butch (Gennine) Growden; sister Gerry (Gary) Harrer; and her twin sister Janet (Dave) Bennidt.She was preceded in death by her parents and son, David Stenstrom. Funeral Services held Saturday September 24, 2011 at 11:00 am at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the funeral home.Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
