Jean Boone Johnson, age 90, of Rochester MN, passed away on May 2, 2020. Jean Catherine Johnson was preceded in death by her parents George and Helen Boone, brother Donald, and daughter-in-law Suwaphan Johnson. She is survived by her husband Dr. William (Bill) Johnson, daughters Carol Injerd (Daniel) and Linda Johnson (Gregory Schuchard), sons William Kevin and Charles (Punyapa) as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Jean was born in East Hartford Connecticut on August 14, 1929. She received her RN degree in June 1952 from the University of Connecticut School of Nursing. She met her future husband while finishing her nursing degree at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Bill was in his last year at Yale School of Medicine. They married on June 14, 1952; they have been inseparable for 68 years. After graduation Jean began her nursing career in a practicing clinical supervisory role in Vermont and later worked as a clinical RN at St. Mary's Hospital while Bill was finishing his training at the Mayo Clinic. She joined the nursing faculty at Rochester Community College where she taught for over 20 years. After retiring from RCC, Jean turned her passion for antiques into a business with a shop at The Red Rooster. Jean had a wonderful smile with a mischievous look in her beautiful blue eyes. She enjoyed entertaining family at the house she loved and at a cottage in Michigan. Jean was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Jean was always very active: she loved to dance, played tennis, was an avid bridge player, and traveled the world with Bill. Jean was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by many. On May 7, 2020, a visitation was held at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home. At Oakwood Cemetery, a graveside service was officiated by Rev. TJ Parlette, First Presbyterian Church. Due to Covid-19, the service was limited to the immediate family.
