Jean Carole-Carlson Lewis, 66, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 1, 2021 at her home. Jean was born September 3, 1955 in Ventura, CA. She moved to Rochester at the age of three and was a 1973 graduate of Mayo High School. Jean went on to obtain her nursing degree from Mankato State University. In 1977, Jean married Steven Lewis at Calvary Episcopal Church in Rochester. She worked as a registered nurse for The Mayo Clinic, St. Marys campus, spending most of her career on 6 Francis. Jean dedicated over 40 years to taking care of patients at The Mayo Clinic before retiring 5 years ago. She enjoyed sewing and making personalized quilts and crafts for friends and family. Jean had a passion for animals, especially dogs and her horses. She loved horseback riding and caring for her horses. Jean was a caregiver at heart and helped take care of all her grandchildren and was always there to lend a hand to others. She was a loving, nurturing, patient and spiritual woman. Jean was the wheel that kept everything moving smoothly in her family. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Steve; children, Eric (Courtney) Lewis, Amy Gonzalez; grandchildren, Logan and Carter Lewis, Blake and Skyler Gonzalez and by her brother, John Carlson. Jean was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester.
