Janie Marie (Bowen) Frisbie passed away peacefully at Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota on July 10, 2024. She was born September 19, 1958 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. She was a 1976 graduate at Lincoln High in Alma Center. She attended University of Wisconsin-Menominee and started her career in the mental health field. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she lived the majority of her adult life. Upon her retirement from the immigration field in 2021, she moved back to Alma Center to care for her mom, Alice. She loved junking, crafting, reading, gardening, cheering for the Chiefs and Packers, and spending time with her loved ones. Her family was her life's greatest joy. In her lifetime, Janie was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, coworker, and friend to many. Her zest for life was truly remarkable and will be remembered for generations to come. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janie is survived by her children Alex (Brianna) Frisbie and Annie (Kevin) Selle, her sister Julie (Bowen) Swall, her brother Todd (Tammy) Bowen, and her nieces and nephews; Trevor Anger, Liz (Wendy) Swall, Andrea (Kelly) Swall, Gabe Gronniger, Gracie (Ian) Billings, Mac (Ashley) Bowen, and Lexie (Jordan) Truell. She is also survived by her grandson Beau Selle and many great-nieces and great-nephews who she loved dearly. Janie is preceded in her death by her parents Alice (Sheffer) Bowen and Vernon (Nick) Bowen.
A Celebration of Life for Janie is scheduled for September 21st, 2024 at VFW in Alma Center Wisconsin at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The PBCers Organization would be appreciated. https://pbcers.org/howtohelp/
