Janet Ann Mack, age 83, of Loudon TN and formerly of Lake City, MN, was called by God to join him on September 20, 2018. Jan was born to parents George & Leona Chlanda on July 22, 1935, in Blue Island, IL. They later settled in Madison, WI where Jan met her husband Kenneth Mack. Both Jan and Ken attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Jan's degree was in Art Education. Jan and Ken married during their senior year of college and had a wonderful and full life together with 61 years of marriage. After briefly living in Texas, Illinois, and Michigan, Ken and Jan settled in Rochester then Lake City, MN to raise their family. Jan was a sociable outgoing person and was involved in several community activities and church clubs (Lincoln Trinity Lutheran, Zumbro Falls). Jan also was a substitute teacher in many area high schools including Lake City, Elgin. Mazeppa & Goodhue. She also worked in retail businesses in Lake City (Wild Wings), Red Wing (Furniture), and Rochester (JoAnn Fabrics). In 1991, Ken and Jan moved to Tellico Village, Loudon, TN. Jan had an interest to constantly learn more of the world she lived in. She found joy in creative expression in community theater, oil painting, sewing, knitting, China painting, quilting and other artistic endeavors. She continued to be active in community clubs and activities while in Tellico Village. She was a founding member of the Village Quilting Club, Book Club, and loved playing dominos with friends. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Judy Wheaton. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Mack of Loudon, TN, and her six children James (Susan) Mack of Pine Island, MN, Timothy (Marie) Mack of Zumbrota, MN, Beth (John) Hawkins of Nicollet, MN, Donald (Larisa) Mack of Pine Island, MN, Lisa (Rod) Waltermann of Rougemont, NC, and Tracy Reidemann of LeRoy, MN. Jan is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A celebration of Jan's life will be held at the Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home at the corner of 18th Ave & 55th St NW, Rochester, MN on October 21st at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
