Jane A. Hanson

Rochester- Jane A. Hanson, 95, of Rochester passed away at the Charter House on January 18, 2011 of natural causes. She was born May 15, 1915 in Rochester to Hans and Clara (Lee) Hanson. Jane attended Edison Elementary, was a 1932 graduate of Central High School and a 1934 graduate of Rochester Junior College. She worked at Mayo Clinic for 43 years as a medical graphic calligrapher. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Jane enjoyed shooting and was also a member of Mayo Clinic Pistol League. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and had a passion for dogs. Jane enjoyed bird watching, collecting rocks and jewelry, especially bright, shiny rings. Jane was a kindhearted woman that always spoke kindly of everyone she met. She is survived by her cousins, Sally Christianson, Charles and Nancy Larsen, Jon and Julie Hanson, Patricia Larsen and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Church 810 3rd Ave. SE Rochester, MN 55904. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00PM Friday, January 21, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home 5241 Royal Place NW. Rochester, MN 55901 and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Rev. Anjanette Rist will be officiating with interment at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paws and Claws Humane Society 602 7th St. NW, Rochester.Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN.
