James Timbeross

James Timbeross, 78, of Rochester, MN passed away Saturday, January 9th, 2016 at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester surrounded by his family. James was born on September 29, 1937 in Zumbrota, Minnesota to P. Melvin and Ida (Fenne) Timbeross.James graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1955.Jim was hired by IBM in 1956; he spent a year in Endicott, NY then worked at the Rochester plant until he retired in 1994.Jim was a member of the MN National Guard for 23 years, retiring in 1979. He married LaVonne More at LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy, MN on September 17, 1960.In 1995 Jim and LaVonne moved to their cabin at Big Pine Lake in Perham, MN spending their summers at the cabin and winters in Apache Junction, AZ.Due to Jims ill health they returned to Rochester in the fall of 2015. Jim was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church while in Rochester and at St. Peters Lutheran Church New York Mills, MN.Over the years Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing golf and bridge. He is survived by his wife LaVonne Timbeross of Rochester, MN; three children, Steven (Gail) Timbeross, Connie (Randy) Lehman and David (Tami) Timbeross; two grandchildren, Jenna Timbeross and Jordan Timbeross; brother, Donald (Virginia) Timbeross in Plano, TX; a sister, Carol (Jerry) Erickson of Zumbrota, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Evelyn Timbeross and brother-in-law, Harlan More. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Rochester, MN with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
