ROCHESTER, MINN:James L. Fellows, 78, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in a car accident, along with his wife, in New Mexico while they were returning home to Rochester from their winter home in Arizona. Jim was born on September 6, 1933 to Lawrence and Otiska (Smith) Fellows in Faribault, MN. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1951. He worked at Mayo Clinic from 1952 thru 1994 except for the two years he served in the Army. During his career, he worked in research and as a supervisor in the Heart Cath Lab. The James L. Fellows Library was named in his honor for his contributions. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. He was a Minnesota Twins baseball fan. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Jim had a great sense of humor and genuine interest in meeting new people and learning new things. He was a life long friend to many. Jim is survived by his two children, a daughter Deborah Fellows, Coon Rapids, MN and a son Daniel (Carol) Fellows, Lino Lakes, MN; two grandchildren Emily (Nathan) Koster and Jacob Fellows. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Otiska Fellows, his wife Marilyn, of fifty-five years and a sister Arlowene. A Funeral Service will be held for James and Marilyn Fellows at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochester. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
