James "Jim" Dean Hausman

Jim (James) Hausman, 78, of Rochester, MN, passed in peace on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at his home. Jim Hausman was born July 27, 1941, in Burbank, CA, to Tony and Doris Hausman. Following the birth of his brothers Bob and Steve the family moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he grew up and completed his education. Graduating with a law degree from University of South Dakota in 1966, he built a career in banking over the next 40 years, leading the Trust and Private Banking departments for National Bank of South Dakota, and later with U.S. Bank, Marquette Bank and Wells Fargo in Rochester, MN. He was also quite active as board member for local charities, including The American Cancer Society and Hope Lodge of Rochester. Retirement brought more time with Sue, his wife of 27 years, his family, and his golf game, all of which brought him many years of joy and laughter. Jim is survived by his wife, Sue, his brother Bob Hausman (Karen), his children Kati Hausman Burns (Keith), Mike Hausman (JoLynn), Cindy Hausman Pelech, and step children Lori Melhorn (Phil), Diane Osland (Greg), and Michael Gauthier (Stacy), his 10 grandchildren (Shay, India, Athen, Emily, Katie, Kelly, Jenny, Grant, Mitchell, and Rachel), and his great grandson, Henry. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Hausman. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26th, 2020 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN 55901). Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Safety guidelines and masks will be required for all services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to Hope Lodge of Rochester.
