Jack Richard Davidson, 65, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away on February 7, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital. Jack was born on July 31, 1956 to parents Vincent and Barbara (Hoppe) Davidson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jack was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He entered the United States Navy and upon discharge, went back to St. Louis and attended college. In 1986, he moved to Rochester and received his real estate license. On September 26, 1987, he married Kay Voigt in Rochester. Everyone who met Jack picked up on his love of baseball, literature, and music. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan but was happy to watch any good baseball game. His love of baseball was further exuded to everyone when he was coaching his boys in the Rochester Youth Baseball Association. Watching the kids' eyes come alive as they mastered the foundations of the game was what he talked about the most around the dinner table. Other topics of conversation included the newest novels he read as well as various philosophers and psychology concepts. Many were overwhelmed yet amazed by his depth of knowledge as he was a worthy debate partner about God, humanity, and love. Outings with Jack would not be complete without music of some sort, whether it be a Beatles record or him pulling out a guitar and playing his own compositions. He would be pleased to say those three interests were passed on to his children, who integrate those loves into their everyday lives even today. Jack is survived by his wife, Kay Davidson; children, Clare (Sebastian) Mino of Trinity, FL; Thresa Davidson of Rosemount, MN; Jackson Davidson of Rochester; Nathan Davidson of Rochester; Lindsay Hoots of Roswell, GA; four grandchildren; sisters Jill Davidson of Fairfax Station, VA and Clare Davidson of Dallas, TX. Jack is preceded in death by his parents and brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home. Pastor Karen Foster will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Oronoco Cemetery.
