Jack Joseph Griffin

ROCHESTER, MN: Jack Joseph Griffin, 85, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at his home. Jack was born September 30, 1927 in Spring Grove, MN to John and Vernie (Lane) Griffin. Jack's family moved to Waukon, IA where he attended and graduated from St. Pat's School. After High School, Jack attended Barber School. On January 31, 1950 in Waukon, IA, Jack married Hope Weymiller. He was a barber for 23 years in Waukon, IA. In 1977, Jack and Hope moved to Rochester where he sold real estate until 1993. He enjoyed dancing, fishing and spending time at his summer cabin with his family and friends. Jack's greatest love was spending time and creating memories with his family and his grandchildren. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Hope; children, Michael Griffin of Rochester, Linda Johnson of Waukon, IA, Carey (Mary) Griffin of Rochester, Joe (Kim) Griffin of Rochester; grandchildren, Catherine (Andy) Sell of Rochester, Greg (Tonya) Griffin of Rochester, Bobby (Lori) Johnson of Waukon, IA, Amy (Doug) Lenzendorf of Eastman, WI, Jeremy Griffin of Scottsdale, AZ and Kelly Griffin of Scottsdale, AZ. Jack is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Pieper and Parker Sell, Nathan and Owen Griffin, Cameron and Colton Johnson, Dawson and Drew Lenzendorf and by his sister, Karen (Dean ) Drew of Waukon, IA. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vernie; brother, Gregory and sisters, Della and Genevieve. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Pax Christi Catholic Church 4135 18th Ave NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church.
