ROCHESTER, MINN: Jack A. Schweitzer, 81, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Season's Hospice in Rochester. Jack was born June 28, 1929 to John and Ruth (Schrader) Schweitzer in Eyota, MN. Jack graduated from St. Charles High School and then served in the Air Force. He married Lois Kinnerup on June 12, 1950 in Winona, MN. Jack worked as a Programmer for IBM for over thirty years and owned Jack's Cafe in St. Charles. He retired in 1991. He also operated a hobby farm in Chatfield while working at IBM. After his retirement, the couple spent the winter in Tuscon, AZ for over twenty years. Jack enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. Jack is survived by his wife Lois, Rochester, MN; five daughters, Joy (Raymond) Lemmer, Minneiska, MN, Sharon (Larry) Dorn, Faribault, MN, Pam (James) Vernon, Highfield, FL, Brenda (Russell) Moritz, Rochester, MN, and Faith (Tony Lammers) Johnson, Chatfield, MN; and three sons, Richard (Dede) Schweitzer, Pine Island, MN, Jackie Jr. (Robin) Schweitzer, San Diego, CA, and Paul (Tammi) Schweitzer, Estero, FL, and seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and his sister, Maurine (Joe) Johnson-Bluhm, Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a grand daughter. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2124 Viola Road N.E. in Rochester, MN., with the Reverend Fred Rengstorf officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church.
