Ivan Kirtley Koenig

ORONOCO, MINN:Ivan K. Koenig, 84, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Pine Haven Care Center, Pine Island, MN. Ivan Kirtley Koenig was born on August 28, 1927 to William and Melinda (Ihrke) Koenig in Oronoco Township, Olmsted County. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1945. Ivan married Jean I. Siewert on June 10, 1948. He farmed in the Oronoco area until his retirement in 2001. Ivan was a Twins and Viking fan and enjoyed watching many sporting events. He was an avid bowler. Ivan was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oronoco, MN. Ivan is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Jean Koenig, Rochester, MN, and his son Anthony J. Tony Koenig, Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Melinda Koenig. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oronoco. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery.
