Isabel S. Smith

Isabel S. Smith, age 82 of Rochester, passed away August 23, 2014 at Seasons Hospice. Born May 7, 1932 in Susquehanna County, PA. She was the daughter of Clifton and Lillian (Noble) Squier.Isabel attended high school in New Jersey, graduating from North Arlington High School. She also graduated from Stroudsburg State Teachers College and was an elementary school teacher for a short time. On June s11, 1957, she married Richard H. Smith in Binghamton, New York.In 1962 she and her husband moved to Rochester from New York.She was a member of Bethel Lutheran church and she enjoyed bowling, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and reading. She especially loved spending time with family and sharing the joy of crafting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Richard, and one son Michael Smith (Debra) both of Rochester, 3 grandchildren; Jennifer (Kevin) Beier of Middleton, WI, Heather (Shane) Undeberg of Rochester, and Michael (Theresa) Schaefer of Rochester and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers; Jesse Squier (Helen) of Bushnell, FL, Daniel Squier (Kathy) of Springville, PA and a sister-in-law: Marilyn Squier of Nicholson, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Russell, and one brother Frank Squier. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday August 27, 2014 at Bethel Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the services, a luncheon will follow the services.Burial will take place in Springville, Pennsylvania. Memorials appreciated to Seasons Hospice or Bethel Lutheran Church.
