Irvin Lilly

Irvin Lilly, age 89, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Marys Campus in Rochester. He was born on April 12, 1926, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Vincent and Viola (Mueller) Lilly. Irvin grew up and made his home on the family farm in rural Rochester, where he lived for 88 years. On June 28, 1947, he married Grace Fellows. Together they had four children. Grace died on September 6, 1987. He later married Rita Mader on October 8, 1988. They enjoyed traveling across the U.S visiting Alaska, California, Texas and the east coast. Irvin's passion was farming and he also enjoyed dancing. He was a past member of the Saddle Club and the Eagle's Club in Rochester. Irvin is survived by his wife, Rita of Rochester; children, Marilynn (Thomas) Jenkin of Richfield, Elizabeth (Bruce) Edwards of Gillette, WY, Vicki (Bob) Brady of Rochester; daughter-in-law, Wanda Lilly of Racine; step-children, Mark (Karen) Mader of Rochester, Craig (Kelly Chen) Mader of Conroe, TX, Susan and Pam Mader both of Rochester; grandchildren, Stacey (Brad) Malone, Anthony Lilly, Jenna Marshall, Seth (Stephanie) Edwards, Wesley (Cathy DeGeorge) Edwards, Michele Reynolds; 4 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernadine (Gene) Naylor, Virginia Mohlke and Dorothy Burch. Irvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace; son, Vincent Tony Lilly and step-daughter, Cheri Reynolds. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, 55901.The visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 on Sunday, June 14, 2015, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
