Irene A. Trunnell, age 80, of Rochester, died on December 18, 2015, at Season's Hospice House in Rochester, MN. The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901 with Pastor Lincoln Engelbert officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Season's Hospice or The American Cancer Association. Irene Agnes Thirtle was born on December 4, 1935, in Eyota, MN, to Thomas and Ava (Wickham) Thirtle. On April 10, 1949, she was baptized at the Homestead United Methoidst Church and remained active in the church.Irene graduated from Rochester High School in 1954. On August 4, 1956, she married Donald Trunnell Jr at The Homestead United Methodist Church in Rochester. Donald served in The United States Air Force and they lived at several different locations throughout their married life. Irene enjoyed square dancing, camping, traveling, and vacationing with family. She stayed active by walking her dogs. Irene was known for her taking care of others both family and friends. Irene is survived by her sons, Donald (Carole) Trunnell III of North Barrington, IL and Mark (Laura Huntington) Trunnell of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Donald IV, Jeffrey and Kaleigh; sister, Mary Lou Young of Boise, ID, Dorothy Wobig of Rapid City, SD and Grace Kilpatrick of Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Donald Jr. who died on October 20, 2000; sisters, Helen Engel and Margaret Suhr; and brother, Wilbur Billy Thirtle.
