Irene Mae DeBoer, 94, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Seasons Hospice. Irene was born September 27, 1920 in Kelliher, MN to I.J. And Clara (Sledtvedt) Melby. She graduated from Wabasha High School and then went on to St. Olaf College. Irene worked in medical records at Olmsted Medical Center for over 25 years before retiring. She was an avid golfer, loved playing cards, especially bridge and she enjoyed crossword puzzles. Irene was active as a sponsor in AA, where she made an impact on many lives. She was a classy lady with a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and to be with people. Irene is survived by her children, Judi (Mike) Kelly of Rochester, Renn (Sunday) DeBoer of Rochester; grandchildren, Kris (Brad) Kelly Bolton, Kim Klein, Erin J. Kelly, Chase DeBoer, and Kali DeBoer; great-grandchildren, Quincie, Carter, Kaitlin, Brad Jr., Amber and by her sister, Francis Mathias of Wabasha, MN. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, I.J. And Clara Melby and by her sister, Thelma Klas.
