Illa M. Nelson

Graveside services for Illa M. Nelson, 86, of Faribault (formerly of Rochester) will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Illa Mae Nelson was born on January 29, 1933 in Rochester to Gyle and Wilma (Schauer) Growt. She died on March 20, 2019 at the Milestone Assisted Living in Faribault Illa graduated from Rochester High School. She worked at the Credit Bureau in Rochester; the License Center in Goodhue County and later at the Hallmark Store. She enjoyed traveling, gambling and going to casinos. She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, playing Bingo, bird watching and cross stitch. She married Burton Patchin and they later divorced. In April of 1979, she married Roger Nelson. Survivors include four daughters, Karen Wilson of Mexico, MO; Marilyn (Roland) Kaehler of Dover, MN, Betty (David) Karsten of Stewartville, MN and Darlene Huss of Faribault, MN; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Illa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roger, son-in-laws Gary Huss and Bill Wilson.
