Hilda Elizabeth Kidd

ROCHESTER -Hilda E. Kidd, 90, died on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. Hilda was born in Fountain, MN on August 26, 1920 to Haakon and Ethel (Parker) Hanson.She attended Preston High School.Hildamarried Lyman Kidd on April 9, 1938 in Wykoff, MN.They lived in various places during WWII before moving to Rochester in 1948. She was a homemaker and for several years worked for the Rochester School Food Service.Lyman passed away on April 16, 1990.Hilda was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Minnesota Tops, and Rochester Senior Center.She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad, crossword puzzles, and reading.Hilda especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Hilda is survived by three sons, Dale (Jan) Kidd, of Bloomington, MN, John (Kathy) Kidd, of Newport, MN, and James (Marjorie) Kidd, of Rochester; 11 grandchildren, Brent (Laurie) Ackerman, Ross (Kathy) Ackerman, Marni (Bob) Harris, Jeff (Teri) Kidd, Steve (Renee) Kidd, Becky (Mike) Kloos, Katie (David) Mumbleau, Carol Pierce, Jim (Linda) Pierce, Jennifer (Osvaldo Lopez) Kidd, and Emily Kidd; 13 great grandchildren; and siblings, Edward (Shirley) Hanson, of Brookfield, WI, Donna Haagenson, of Chatfield, MN, and Carroll (Janna) Vaalemoen, of Cresco, IA. Hilda is preceded in death by her husband, Lyman; her parents; a daughter, Denise (James) Ackerman; and a brother, Chester Hanson A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Christ United Methodist Church, 400 5th Ave SW with Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating.Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the church.Interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be directed to Christ United Methodist Church, Rochester Senior Center, or Seasons Hospice.
