Henry Heise

Henry George Heise passed away at home at the age of 74, on October 4, 2024. He was born September 28,1950 in Lake City, MN to Jess and Almira Heise. Henry spent his first five years of life in El Cajon, California. The family then moved back to Zumbro Falls where he lived through high school. His elementary days were spent at St. John's Lutheran School in Lake City and later he graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1968. Henry attended Winona Technical College to get his associate in applied science degree in mechanical design. While in Winona he met his wife Margaret Krause and they were married on July 24,1971 in Oronoco, MN.

After college he worked a short time at Gould in St. Paul, MN. Then he accepted a position at Di Acro in Lake City. He made his home there for 16 years and started raising his children Jonathan (1974) and Rebekah (1979). He made a career change in 1989 and moved his family to Ludington, MI. Five years later the family moved back to Kasson, MN and Henry worked for Concepts and Design Inc. in Owatonna. In later years he worked for McNeilus Trucking and Rochester Medical.

Henry loved gardening and spent many hours tending to his flowers and vegetables. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed both hunting and fishing. Henry taught gun safety and also helped coach his kid's youth sports teams. Henry was a fabulous baker and loved cooking and canning. He was also a huge animal lover, and especially loved his dogs Goldie and Ellie. Henry also was a collector of many things including antique indent Christmas ornaments, Dicken's Christmas Village, marbles, guns, coins, rocks, tools, and of course seeds. He also was a MN sports fan and supported the MN Wild, Twins, and Vikings.

Henry is survived by his wife Margaret; son Jonathan (Sarah) Heise; daughter Rebekah (Jason) Twaddle; grandchildren Solomon, Raiven, Santanna, and Avalon Heise; Julia (fiancé Zachary Cameron), Olivia, Amelia, and Henry Twaddle; sister Tyla (Tim) Gray; brother-in-law Carl Krause; sisters-in-law Phyllis Krause and Sara Brueggen; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jess and Almira Heise and brothers-in-law Albert and Merle Krause.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1212 12th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901). Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow at Oronoco Cemetery.
