Henrietta A. Craven

ROCHESTER - Henrietta A. Craven, 99, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Elk Grove Village, IL. Henrietta Adele Brand was born March 6, 1911 in Wilson, MN. to Christian and Emma (Elfman) Brand. After graduating from high school, she attended La Crosse State Teachers College Rural Teachers Course and taught in Winona County rural schools. On May 21, 1932 Henrietta married Clarence Craven. They lived in Winona and Richmond, CA. In 1946, they opened the Utica Produce in Utica, MN. In 1964, they moved to Rochester. She was a former employee of Dayton's. Henrietta was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Henrietta was involved with the Sarah Circle, Quilters, Resource, and she was also a Greeter. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, and sewing.Henrietta is survived by a son, Richard (Nadine) Craven of Schaumburg, IL; a step-son Clarence Jr. (Mae) Craven, of Rochester, a step-daughter, Angeline Caldie, of Green Bay, WI; a sister, Audrey Myckleby, of Mesa, AZ; a sister-in-law, Ruby Brand of Richfield, MN; seven grandsons, Steven, Glen, Clare, Scott, Douglas, Chris, and Jonathan Craven; two granddaughters, Julie Kramer and Susan Winters; and twenty-five great-grandchildren and eighteen great great-grandchildren. Henrietta is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; two brothers; two sisters and a twin sister, Alfrieda; a grandson; and a great granddaughter.A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 869 7th Ave. SE., with Rev. Dr. James Heining officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church.
