Rochester- Funeral Services for Helen L. Arnold, 94, who died on Wednesday July 20th at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth,will be held on Monday, July 25th 2011 at 11:00A.M. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2911 18th Ave. N.W. in Rochester with Rev. Steve Melvin and Rev. David Sundeen officiating.Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.Memorials are requested to donors choice. Helen Louise Haney was born August 3, 1916 in Rochester to Roy and Grace (Dickerman) Haney.She grew up in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School.She worked for a time at Massey's Department Store.She married Warren T. Arnold June 6, 1936 in Rochester.Warren was a Mayo Clinic employee.Helen was a stay at home mom and raised her family.She enjoyed spending time at Crane Lake and Ely, MN.She enjoyed sewing, the outdoors, watching birds, gardening and especially fishing.Her grandson Steven said she pickled everything and he especially enjoyed her pickled beans.In her younger years she was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and later at Emmanuel Baptist Church.She volunteered at the Methodist Hospital as a Pink Lady.Her husband Warren died in 1988. Helen is survived by daughters, Karen J. Olson (Gordon) of Rochester, MN and Nancy Logan (Tim) of Grand Meadow, MN; grandchildren, Thomas and Steven Olson, Matthew Logan, Mandy Riley and Maleesa Watson; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey Lockman (Wilbur) of Canyon Lake, CA, Floy Miller of Owatonna, MN and Mary Rucker of Menifee, CA.She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Avert; and two sisters, Doris and Nadine.
