Helen D. Reese

ROCHESTER - Helen D. Reese, 82, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Rochester Health and Rehabilitation Services East. Helen was born in Cambridge, IA on September 19, 1936 to Harry and Sylvia (Louks) Elliott. She was a graduate of Ames, IA High School. On April 8, 1956, she married Robert Reese. Helen worked in retail all her career, starting at Massey's Department Store in Rochester and ended her career as manager at Silhouettes Shop, specializing in prosthetic orthotics for women. Helen loved traveling with her husband, Bob, spending time up North at the lake, campfires and having tea or going to lunch with her girlfriends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was fondly known as "Gr'ma". Helen loved watching her grandchildren grow and supporting them along the way. She was fun, sweet with a feisty side. Helen, a survivor, also known to many as the "Helenator" for her strong, fierce and fighting personality. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Helen is survived by four daughters, Kimberly (Lee) Mudge, of Brooklyn Park, Katherine (Lonnie) Hinds, of Rochester, Karen (Craig) Reese, of Minneapolis, and Kellie (Rick) Brady, of Crystal, MN; six grandchildren, Nicole, Justin, Andrew (Jennifer), Amanda, Chenoah (Tasha), and Blake-Ashley; two step-grandchildren, Colton and Shane and two great grandchildren, Dominik and Marlee. Helen is preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Robert; a grandson, Nathan; a brother, Blake Elliott, and sisters, Bertha Green and Margaret Shaeffer. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
