Hazelle Margaret Distad was born on January 17, 1915 and entered eternal life on February 2, 2014 reuniting with her beloved husband Richard and grandson Jason. She married Richard on March 3, 1943.They lived in Texas during WWII and returned to Rochester, MN. Besides raising four children Hazelle worked at the Kahler Hotel for many years. She was a tireless and selfless volunteer at Zumbro Lutheran Church. Family and faith were the prime joys of Hazelles life. Her kind spirit and zest for life will live on in those who knew her. She was a gentle loving person who enjoyed her flower garden, knitting and quilting.Hazelle expressed her love to others by baking and is especially known for her lefse and cinnamon rolls. She shared with others the joy of everyday beauty she found in Gods world. Hazelle was adored and an inspiration to all who met her. Her smile would light up a room. Hazelle is survived by four children: David (Helen) of Eden Prairie, Bob (Debbie) of St Paul, Patricia Lane of Rochester and Victoria of St Paul. Grandchildren include Eric Distad of Keystone, CO., Jonathan (Tesha) Distad of Minneapolis, Marne (Sam) Alyaseen of Denver, Timothy (Nissa) Lane and Cristin (Julian) Currie of Rochester, MN and eight great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, February 7, 2014 atZumbro Lutheran Church, 624 3rd Avenue Southwest, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. Rev. Vern Christopherson will be officiating with interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
