ROCHESTER - Harvey R. Ratzloff, 68, died of a heart attack on Monday, September 2, 2013 at his home in Rochester. Harvey was born in Mountain Lake, MN on April 26, 1945 to Nels and Helen (Eytzen) Ratzloff.On June 22, 1968 he married Mary Crawford. He graduated from Mankato State in 1972, and soon after began his career as a real estate broker and land developer in Rochester, MN. In 2006, Harvey opened the doors to his own Real Estate company, Property Brokers, and he was blessed to have the company ranked in the top 10 of SE MN companies within its first year. Harvey enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and fixing anything he could get his hands on. Not a day went by that he didnt spend time with his family. Whether it be watching his grandchildren play sports or perform in plays, taking weekend drives with his wife to see the leaves changing colors or hanging out with his children on the river or grilling on the deck, he was larger than life and always made time for them. The word superhero does not even begin to describe him. No matter where he was, Harvey made a new friend. He loved people. He was an active member of his church and led Bible studies in his personal time. Harvey is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary; four children, Chris (Amy) Ratzloff, of Rochester, Corey (Brenda) Ratzloff, of Woodbury, MN, Travis Ratzloff, of Rochester, and Traci Ratzloff, of Rochester; four grandchildren, Brandon, Ella, Alyssa, and Evelyn; and two siblings, Ruby (Fred) Valenta, of Lincoln, NE, and Allen (Renea) Ratzloff, of Mankato, MN. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 5500 25th Ave. NW. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and an hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials can be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the 700 Club, Rochester Youth for Christ or Gideon Bibles.
