Harold E. Struckmann Funeral services for Harold E. Struckmann will be held 11 AM Friday, September 14, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church with The Rev. Dr. Norman W. Wahl officiating.Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services at the church.Entombment will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Harold passed away in his residence surrounded by family on September 11, 2012 at the age of 98.Born August 9, 1914 in Wanda, MN to August and Martha Struckmann.He attended Wanda Public Schools through the 8th grade and then graduated from Lamberton High School.He went on to Twin Cities Barber College and became a barber.He barbered at Sleepy Eye and Fairmont, MN.He later went into the life insurance business selling for Lutheran Mutual of Waverly, Iowa.After several years in the life insurance business, he then went into real estate, where he became a broker and later a teacher of real estate in the junior colleges throughout the state until his retirement.He married Dorothy Langholz on September 4, 1940 and she survives.Also surviving are his five children: Ruth Ann Horning (Lowell) of Rochester, Ronald Struckmann (Dianne) of Maple Grove, MN, Shirley Chambers (Bill) of Llano, TX, Gerald Struckmann of Rochester, and Janet Ableitner (Chris) of Rogers, AR also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one grandson, five brothers, and four sisters. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and his favorite hobbies included chess, pitching horseshoes, and spending time up north on vacation.
